Ok so I have come across the world of fashion consultants and image stylists. In the past whenever someone mentioned the words ‘professional stylist’ a picture of rich people, glamour and shopping trips to Milan would always conjure up in my mind. However, I have done my research and looked into this unknown world and found that it is the complete opposite.
Professional stylists are not only for the rich and famous but for people like you and me as well. In fact, believe it or not they are affordable and can actually end up saving you money. I know – it’s unbelievable! Many women spend so much time trying to find their unique style and end up buying all the wrong clothes which relates to expensive mistakes. With a professional stylist this can be overcome as they can help you understand your body shape and how to dress to make the most of it; discover which colours you should and should not be wearing; develop an individual style that reflects your lifestyle and personality; learn to mix and match better and learn to shop effectively.
So where do you find these professionals who are going to turn you into one gorgeous, confident woman and save you lots of cash? I came across The Wardrobe Studio – a Cape Town based consultancy which offers a wide range of services including personal styling, wardrobe planning, shopping trips, makeovers, make-up artistry, colour analysis and many other style related services.
They are also launching an exciting new addition to their business next year – 3/6 day stylist training courses. The courses will give you the knowledge, practical skills and confidence needed to pursue a successful career path in personal styling, fashion styling or both. You don’t have to be a fashion guru to attend – they are open to anyone with motivation and a keen interest in fashion, style and shopping.
Hopefully I have managed to demystify the world of professional stylists and show you that it is not only for the rich and famous although I’m sure once you are done you will feel like a million bucks!

So the first event has come and gone and it was great. The evening started off with Julia Jakobsen playing her 
beautiful acoustic tunes while people sipped champagne outside in the park under the gorgeous clear skies. The clothes were stunning and I had a strong urge to nip some under the table for myself – especially the two beautiful cocktail dresses – but I got passed that and was happy to see them going home with their new owners at the end of the evening. All guests went away with goodie bags and our two lucky raffle winners left with free belly dancing classes, a bottle of wine and magazines.
